Caldwells USA

There are a lot of people posting snippets of their US family trees in the guestbook. I sincerely doubt if anyone is paying any attention and there might just be a lucky shot in the dark one day.

I have no knowledge whatsoever on US Caldwell lines but I remember reading in a book once years ago that it was the 85th most common name in the USA or words to similar effect.

If this is even partly true then the whole US Caldwell family tree must be immense.

What we need is a volunteer with a genealogy program to collate all these snippets into one database. I am sure that if this were done many families could be connected up.

At the moment it makes my eyes hurt just to scroll through the guestbook. Wonderful information but so hard to remember just who is who and no doubt nobody but the most committed researcher is going to stick with it until they get somethng that matches.

Anyone who is willing to take on the task of trying to make some link-ups will duly be dubbed an honorary member of the "Loyal Order of Caldwell Good People".

In the meantime keep coming back - who knows what the next person signing will say :)

I have noted that when you reply to an email address it comes up with an "at" instead of "@" and the email goes nowhere. Just change the "at" to "@" and it will work better.

Tom
