I am really torn by the list of books I found - probably only the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. So many books, so little time.......

Archival work is absolutely fascinating - that occupied me for over 6 months this year. And it takes immersing yourself to really sort things out, as well as to search for reliable information.

Your comment about French gave me an idea - I have not thoroughly searched the French National Archives for Caldwell. I found a great deal of information on the DuPuy family there. Thanks for reminding me.
