Found an old family tree in my father's attic. Goes something like this: Apparently a "church letter" (wish I knew what church) "says: James and Iscablla with 6 children left (?Ard?trtra?-unreadable?)-County Tyrone-North of Ireland for America about 1795 first coming to Chester County Penn. (James-born in 1769, died July 23, 1812), Children were William (1805-1865), Richard, Dr. Joseph, M.D. (1797-1838), Mary, Margaret (1789-1864), Eleanor (1800-1811). "Joseph II says, "settled at Hickory, Mt. Pleasant Township, Washington County, Western Penn. in 1790" "They bought land from George Washington for his services in the French & Indian wars."

My lineage goes from James (1769-1812) to Doctor Joseph, M.D. (1797-1836) to William (1821-1898) to John (1844-1936)to Vern (Lavern), my Grandfather (1881-1939), to my father, Merlin (1912-1982) to me, Robert, born in 1947 in Canton, OH and currently living in Louisville, KY.
Has anyone seen this tree? Where in Ireland were they from? What church? Who, prior to James (1769-1812)?
One problem - some information I read about Dr. Joseph Caldwell says he is Scotish!
