Slantie, David Andrew Caldwell,

So many questions!! I can't answer very many of your questions as I have not gotten as far into the clan histroy as you have. I will forward your letter on to the Clan Muir President, Kurt Moore. I think he can answer some of your questions and may forward the rest on to the Clan Muir Chief,
Andrew Moore.

The tartan pattern background on the clan web page is from a photograph of a kilt taken by Kurt Moore. I will send another email with the name and phone number of someone from whom you can order the Muir Tartan. It is available in the modern and ancient, and on either wool or cotton. Many kilt makers can also order it. I dont know where you are, but the kilt maker I used is here in New Mexico. I can send her contact information as well. I have attached a file with the modern pattern of the Muir Tartan.

I have also attached a file of the new California Tartan. It is based on the Clan Muir Tartan with an extra yellow strip. This was selected by California because of the roll of John Muir in forming the US National Park
system and its effect on California.

If you send your mailing address I can send you a copy of the Clan Muir brochure and a membership form, if you are interested. It would be interesting to compair your information with what we already have and maybe
flesh out the histories of the various parts of the the Clan
Muir/Moore/Muhr/Moore.

Thanks for contacting us. I look forward to future conversations.

Soriadh!
