CaldwellGenealogy.com Discussion ForumCALDWELL LIBRARY

Date: 08:08 6/2/02 Do you have any idea what a wonderful idea you have to create a CALDWELL LIBRARY on-line!!! As long as information was carefully documented and edited it would be a treasure trove for ALL RESEARCHERS. If people submit their family line I think they too should have to put in sources and documentation or CLEARLY NOTE IT IS SPECULATION until PROVEN OTHERWISE. Think of the service the Latter Day Saints have provided by collecting data! Ours could be similar for CALDWELL research only. However, could it be made really easy for computer "newbies" to access??? Believe it or not, I DO have trouble with the format of LDS site! I am a BOOK LIBRARY freak so I expect online stuff to be set up in a similar manner...ya know, card catalogue and numbers to hunt for....on line stuff is really hard to navigate sometimes. I know that you guys are the true "experts" here, but trust me I sure would come to the site to learn!! Wouldn't it need articles on HOW TO RESEARCH and of course we would still want a forum for people to discuss their research with each other and "debate" merits of information etc. OOOOHHH, you guys have done it now! Totally exciting idea! Hope you can pull it off. I will be there daily, you will find me in a comfy chair reading and learning and dozing! Barbara PS...I know those of us who are not as knowledgeable as some of you may exasperate you or test your patience with our questions, but I do hope ALL WILL BE WELCOME so that a potential "expert" can feel comfortable enough to land here and help us all out! I do not like sites which become too snobby to accept a periodic "newbie"...where would any of us be without someone having gone before to guide our way? Messages In This Thread
