I have just started to check into genealogy on Caldwell.
This is what I know. My grandfather was Charles Harry Caldwell born 3-13-1891 around Booneville Iowa ,brothers and sisters. Willaim Elmer, Dora Marie,J ohn, Leon, Samual Jessie, Sarah Jane, Gilbert and Mable Ellen.

There parents were Albert Allen Caldwell , born 1858 born in Iowa. Alberts wife was Amanda E. Baird/Beard, Born 1861 in Illinois.

This information comes from the Van Meter,census 1900. line 300-302. I belive Samual Caldwell and Sarah A Caldwell were Alberts parents Samual born June 1826 Sarah born Feb.1831
This taken from the same census line 362 -365 I wish I had more information . There is mention of Vermont, and New Hampshire.
