I wonder if anyone can help me? My name is Georgina Caldwell and I Live just south of Glasgow in Scotland - I am trying to trace my family tree and just don't know where to start, I can only trace back about 100 yrs so far to my grandfather John Caldwell (married to Annie Caldwell ( Gillies), in Pollock Shaws in Glasgow.

As far as I am aware I am not related to Caldwells who moved to Ireland.

I had an Uncle who served in the British Navy but died in the 1st world war an i have not been able to find anything about him either.

Could someone please direct me to a usefull sorce of information or possibly tell me which line of Caldwells i should be starting with.
