This is a family tree that I roughed up from information contained in the book "The Caldwell's of Castle Caldwell" I am indebted to John B Cunningham who is the author and copyright holder of the book. It is far from complete and may contain inaccuracies but I am placing it on the site for such help as it may give to researchers. My ancestors came from the Prestwick area in Ayrshire but I doubt if we are connected as a family. John may care to save this for me into the searcheable archive area (thanks).

The Caldwell's of Castle Caldwell seem to have had Scots origins and in the early days seemedto marry into families with Scots surnames but increasingly looked to England and married into English families. They appear to have adopted the Anglican religion and several members of the family were very acquisitive in obtaining grants of land.
